The First Sparkle.

Since this is the first post, I figured that I should give you a little backgound. I live in Caldwell, Texas. Population 3,000. To keep that even number we kill off two people every year. There is mainly a Czech herriatage influence, a little bit of Redneck.
I moved here when I was 4, and from the minute my glitter jellies touched the county line, I knew I was in a diffrent world. Men were in jeans and long sleeve shirts. the older gentlemen wore these jumsuits that were extremly to tight called “Cover-all’s”. Which is a contridiction becase they did not “Cover-all”. Women were dressed the same as the men, jeans and long sleeve shirts. Except they added their own touch, the jeans were acid washed and bedazzled like nobody’s buisness! The older women stuck to the basics. Matching chifon and cotton suit sets, knee highs, and the all powerful boufont.
I felt as though I had arrived in an episode of Andy Griffin gone horribly wrong. This was a lot for a 4 year old fashionista to handle. Since the day I sached out of the womb, my mother reffered to me as her “little dress up doll”. After a couple of week’s of living here my mother decided it was time for a wardrobe update, when asked where the nearest Gap was, it replied “Darlin’ I’ve had this gap in my teeth all my life. If it’s clothes your looking for, we got a Wal-Mart down the road.”
Upon arriving at the Wal-Mart, we learned very quickly this is the all knowing temple and center of life of a small town. In an hour you can buy the same exact outfit as your grandmother, find out about the neighbor’s divorce, the funeral times of every single funeral, buy a gun, and get your ear’s pierced. From that moment on I new my life had changed.
I made a vow that day that I would bring a little bit of Glamour and Life to the town of Caldwell. One sparkle at a time. I am now 18 years old and my mission is only half way over…
